About g5

g5 denotes a shaft tolerance zone with sliding deviation in the ISO 286 system. It is used in H6/g5 (High-precision sliding parts with minimum play: measuring instrument spindles, precision guide pins.).

At Ø25 mm g5 is −0.007 / −0.016 mm, i.e. 24.984 to 24.993 mm.

How the limits are calculated

g5 uses grade IT5 (a standard tolerance of 9 µm at 18–30 mm). Fundamental deviation: es is tabulated directly by ISO 286-1 Table 2; ei = es − IT5. See the fundamental deviation table for every letter. Values per ISO 286-1:2010.
