About p5

p5 denotes a shaft tolerance zone with press deviation in the ISO 286 system. It is used in H6/p5 (Precision locational press fit, e.g. bushes in instrument housings.).

At Ø25 mm p5 is +0.031 / +0.022 mm, i.e. 25.022 to 25.031 mm.

How the limits are calculated

p5 uses grade IT5 (a standard tolerance of 9 µm at 18–30 mm). Fundamental deviation: ei is tabulated directly by ISO 286-1 Table 2; es = ei + IT5. See the fundamental deviation table for every letter. Values per ISO 286-1:2010.
